| As summer moves along, Atlas Soundtrack and its five members are doing so as well. We’d like to thank everyone who came out to out NEON NIGHTS event at Cafe 210 last Saturday, we will be doing something like that again in the very near future! We get so much love from State College, its a wonderful feeling to have that support from your hometown, especially when that means embracing a group playing all-original music. We feel a change of the music scene has been long over-due in this town, and we’re just happy to be a part of that, along with the other talented and fun groups here in SC.We had the pleasure of playing some other cool shows recently, and met some great new people along the way. We opened for a band “Orgone” out of L.A. @ Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg, and they rocked the stage with about 9 heads, droppin’ some funky afrobeat-ness. Things seemed to gel pretty cool with us and them, so be on the look out for Atlas bringing Orgone into town for a double-header. We also hit up a spot in York Haven called “The Boondocks Club”, which was one of the coolest stages/venues we’ve hit thus far. And even though the name of the venue rings truth to the nature of its location, and it being our first time there, we still we’re happy to have 20+ heads come through and show their love. However, apparently come October when Holloween season rolls around, the land that this venue is located on turns into a MASSIVE, nationally-known, haunted/horror-house destination and gets flooded with people from all over. So be on the look out in a few months for an Atlas HOLLOWEEN show at The Boondocks Club!
As for now, we are a practice-spot-deprived musical group, and have to resort to things like raiding the music building on campus in order to get in some quality rehearsals. And it will continue in this fashion until the beginning of August when some of us move into a house in town. SO IF YOU HERE LOUD HIP HOP REGGAE ROCK COMING FROM CAMPUS, come say hi! ‘Cuz its bound to happen a few more times…DOWNRIGHT MUSICAL BANDITS (a.k.a. makin’ due with what we got) Be sure to catch us this Saturday @ Summers Best Music Fest, 4 pm Heister St. Stage. We will be performing with keyboardist Erek Kapusta for the first time. Erek is a sick player, and also plays with The Insomniacs, and The Nightcrawlers, but hes going to spread some of that love over to us, so come check it out!! Again, we’re honored to be part of such a wonderful event that celebrates the variety and straight-up awesome spectrum of musicians and artists of this town! So keep supporting local, homegrown music, and we’ll see you Saturday for a great day of just that! P E A C E Atlas Soundtrack |
